How do I apply for a Security Officer Certification?
To Register with the NJSP here:
https://eapps.njsp.org/applicant/logon.do.
It is MANDATORY to register with the NJ State Police.
After you have completed your registration with the NJ State Police you must submit your 30-Day Temporary Certificate ID number to the instructor.
Re-Certification
If you are renewing your SORA certification, follow the same link and select "Returning SORA Applicant".

Unarmed Security Guard Requirements in New Jersey
To begin your career as an unarmed security officer in New Jersey, you must become licensed by the New Jersey State Police (SORA).
Unarmed security officer requirements in New Jersey are below.
Applicants must:

Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident with an issued social security number

Be at least 18 years of age

Submit to fingerprinting

Successfully complete 24-hour security officer training course.
Ready To Take Our Classes?
In order to complete your SORA certification you must complete a training course with NJSP certified instructors and also have complete a fingerprint scan done at a MorphoTrak. It is recommend that you enroll via their website: https://uenroll.identogo.com/
Please note: You do not need to have your fingerprints done to attend our classes but we strongly recommended it.
