Unarmed Security Guard Requirements in New Jersey
To begin your career as a security guard in New Jersey, you must become licensed by the New Jersey State Police (SORA).
Security officer requirements in New Jersey are below.
Applicants must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident with an issued social security number
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Submit to fingerprinting
- Successfully complete 24-hour security officer training course.
